Temauris is a large, tropical world of the Centrality Region and one of the founding planets of the the United Coalition of Independent Systems. It is home to a tall insectoid species, the Temaurs, and its rings contain the highest concentration of Vetresium in the quadrant. Its capital is the city Hothe Tarr, located near the northern pole.

Temauris is covered by dense rain forests and tropical rivers. It has large lakes, but no oceans. Volcano chains ring its equator and large canyons scar the surface. The Temaurs love their environment and strive to keep it clean and living, disrupting the ecosystem only when absolutely necessary. They have gone to great lengths to preserve the rain forests of Temauris. Once they achieved the technological ability they moved above the forests and live in large Hive Ships that hover in the sky to better keep the forests untouched.

Temauris is also orbited by a large set of rings. These rings contain an incredibly dense source of vetresium (it composed 92% of the rings), a mineral used in the Temaur SRB's, a strong and very clean power source. Ringed planet's are very rare. Temauris is one of the only habitable ringed worlds in all of Via Lactea.

Termauris also rotates in a different direction than its rings do, giving the illusion, when on the surface, that the rings are moving across the planet's sky. This was the primary way of telling time for the ancient Temaurs. It is believed that the rings were formed in Temauris' early development when two of its moon crashed together. It is believed that these two moons were composed completely of vetresium, that is why the rings contain so much of the mineral.

Temauris itself and its four moon contain vetresium, but not nearly the amount hat is in the rings.
